D'Oliveiras Vinhos

Pereira d'Oliveira is perhaps the Madeira house with the most impressive collection of historic bottles — vintages going back to the 19th century remain available to taste and to buy. The Funchal premises are genuinely old, with dark cellars full of century-old casks. The visit is free and relatively informal; tastings range from current vintages to Frasqueira Madeiras over 100 years old. For Madeira enthusiasts, it's a non-negotiable stop.

Pereira d'Oliveira was founded in 1820 and is still owned by the same family; it has one of the deepest stocks of historic Madeira in bottle, with vintages going back to the 19th century.
