This 100 Hectares 18 Reserva is a genuinely surprising wine. It bursts with a deep ruby colour, yet possesses a remarkably refined elegance hinting at meticulous ageing. The nose reveals a wonderfully wild vegetal character, underpinned by a subtle gunpowder note – a lovely echo of the Touriga Nacional (Tinta Barroca), beautifully balanced by the vibrancy of the Aragonez. On the palate, the acidity is wonderfully assertive, providing a refreshing lift and a dry finish that begs for another glass – ideally paired with a hearty beef stew.
