This Douro white from 100 Hectares certainly seems to have enjoyed a rather indulgent stay in oak. Following a particularly careful selection of the grapes – delivered in those charming 20kg wooden crates – fermentation in stainless steel ensures a refreshing balance. The “bâtonnage” – using oak chips from new French barrels – adds a wonderfully velvety texture, complemented by floral and fruity nuances. The result is an elegant wine with a long, mineral finish, ideal for pairing with grilled fish and, perhaps, a comforting arroz de pato.
