1903 Offley Vintage Porto Porto

Description

Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world, guided by a long‑term vision that prioritizes the quality of the wines sold, the freshness of its brands, and the presentation of its products. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the goal set at its inception: to be a family‑oriented, internationally focused company that concentrates on producing high‑quality wines, fostering innovation, and developing Portuguese brands that compete on a global level. The company owns about 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. Offley, established in London in 1737 by William Offley as a wine trading house, quickly began exporting wines and later produced its own Port, earning the brand worldwide recognition as a maker of superior quality wines. A pivotal moment for the company’s growth was when Joseph James Forrester joined as a partner. Known as Baron Forrester, he played a key role in expanding the international trade of Port wine and was the first to map the Douro River and valley, a feat that earned him recognition and membership in several European geographical and artistic societies.
