Very few producers, especially in Madeira wine, find in their history a revolution as profound as that experienced by Barbeito. To shift from a bulk wine supplier to a regional benchmark in the Madeira wine area overnight is a feat. It all began in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and, together with the Japanese Kinoshita partners, decided to make Barbeito one of the most important Madeira wine producers.
