The House of Sandeman was founded in London in 1790 by George Sandeman, a young Scotsman from Perth who decided to invest £300, borrowed from his father, in a venture to market Port and Sherry wines. Always a pioneer, Sandeman was the first company to brand a fire barrel with its name, ensuring the quality of the wine it sold. Over more than two centuries, Sandeman’s success has been built on a rare capacity for innovation and on expertise passed down from generation to generation. Today, led by the Portuguese company Sogrape Vinhos, Sandeman is clearly the world’s leading brand of Port and Sherry, proudly signing: “Sandeman, Famous for Pleasure.” The vintage year may not match the image shown.
