Very few producers, especially in Madeira wine, have experienced a revolution as profound as the one that took place with Barbeito. Going from a bulk wine supplier to becoming a benchmark in the Madeira wine region is no small feat. It all began in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and, together with the Japanese Kinoshita partners, set out to transform Barbeito into one of the most important producers of Madeira wines.
