According to its age, the wines may show signs left by time, such as dust traces in the bottles and/or some damage to the labels, which is common in wines that have been stored for decades. The Garrafeira Nacional is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance that comes with their age. We typically select brands/regions that usually perform well in old wine competitions. However, wine is a living organism, and like others, it is exposed to time, and even inside a bottle the aromas are subject to different evolutions. Thus, Garrafeira Nacional cannot be held responsible for the wine’s quality, given that it is an old wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let it breathe beforehand, as this will help release the wine’s natural aromas after so many years closed.
