The bottles of old wines may show traces of dust and damaged labels, which is to be expected given their age. The National Cellar is committed to storing all wines at the correct temperature and humidity, but it always chooses to preserve the visual appearance that reflects the wine’s age. We select brands/regions that, in general, reveal distinct characteristics in tastings of vintage wines. However, we note that wine is a living organism that ages over time, and even when sealed in a bottle, its aromas can evolve in different ways. Therefore, the National Cellar cannot be held responsible for the product’s quality, as it is an aged wine. Our recommendation is to open the bottle and let the wine aerate first, as this will help release its natural aromas after so many years closed. If you choose to decant the wine before serving, be sure to do so patiently to detect the emergence of sediment, which a typical old wine tends to develop. (Illustrative image only)
