Very few producers, especially in Madeira wine, have experienced a revolution as significant as that which happened with Barbeito. Being a bulk wine supplier and suddenly becoming a reference for the Madeira wine region is an achievement. It all happened in 1991 when Ricardo Freitas joined the family business and, together with the Japanese Kinoshita, decided to turn Barbeito into one of the most important Madeira wine producers.
