The production of Moscatel, as a fortified wine, is similar to that of Port wines, resulting in sweet wines whose alcoholic fermentation is halted by adding grape spirit. After a set period of skin maceration, the Moscatel wine is placed in barrels for ageing and refinement of its richly aromatic profile. These wines are made from the various Moscatel grape varieties, internationally renowned for their aromatic richness and natural sugar concentration.
