Quinta do Piloto in Palmela is one of the great producers of fortified Moscatel de Setúbal and Castelão-led reds on the Setúbal Peninsula. The Lança family has farmed the estate for five generations; the visit takes in the historic stone cellars where vintage Moscatel from previous decades still rests in old wooden barrels, the modern winery for the table wines, and tastings that include very rare aged Moscatels — including bottlings labelled by decade of harvest. A serious destination for Moscatel enthusiasts.
