The Niepoort Colheita Branco was produced from a batch of grapes of different varieties sourced from vines more than 60 years old, planted on loam soils. With a golden hue, it offers a complex aroma that reveals notes of hazelnut, juniper, citrus, honey, and spices. On the palate it is very delicate yet well‑structured, with a sharp acidity typical of Niepoort's white Ports, balanced by sweetness, and ending long and persistent. In the national wine landscape there is no more consensual producer than Niepoort, and its long history began in 1842 with the arrival of the first Van der Niepoort in Portugal. Starting as a port wine trader, he quickly established a business that would prove prosperous and enduring. Thus, in the fifth generation Dirk Niepoort was born, a pivotal figure in the wine world, recognized as one of the most important personalities who has worked—and continues to work—in defense of Portuguese wine. He has collaborated with dozens of producers, helping them improve their wines and understand their vineyards, and has also crafted his own legacy alongside those who are constantly creating bold wines. Today, Dirk Niepoort is involved in many other projects, in practically all Portuguese wine regions and some overseas ones. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown.
