One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, an estate that once belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the Ferreirinha, and that remains in the hands of her descendants. The Vallado wines, long unjustly forgotten, have now naturally reclaimed their lost time. They are wines of great importance to the history of the Douro and deserve a place among the best. Built in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest estates in the Douro, situated near Régua on the banks of the Rio Corgo. The fate of this emblematic estate is in the hands of João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of the Ferreirinha, responsible respectively for the management of the company and enology.
