Founded in 1716 and historically part of the Ferreira empire, Quinta do Vallado sits in Peso da Régua at the confluence of the Corgo and Douro rivers. The estate hosts a 13-room boutique winery hotel — its modern schist-clad extension designed by Francisco Vieira de Campos won architecture awards — and combines visits to the historic 18th-century lagares with tastings of the great Adelaide Reserva tribute reds and the celebrated Vallado tawnies. Cellar tours descend through walls of original Douro stone before opening onto cool ageing rooms scented with old wood.
Founded in 1716 by Dona Antónia Ferreira, the legendary "Ferreirinha" of the Douro. Owned by the Ferreira family for over three centuries.
