One of the most prestigious estates in the Douro is Quinta do Vallado, an estate that once belonged to D. Antónia Adelaide Ferreira, the Ferreirinha, and which still remains in the hands of her descendants. The Vallado wines have unfortunately been forgotten and are now naturally reclaiming their lost time. They are wines of great importance in the history of the Douro and deserve to be among the top. Built in 1716, Quinta do Vallado is one of the oldest estates in the Douro, located near Régua on the banks of the Rio Corgo. The destiny of this emblematic estate rests with João Alves Ribeiro and Francisco Ferreira, both descendants of the Ferreirinha, who oversee the company and its enology, respectively.
