This António Maçanita Touriga Nacional is a wonderfully bold statement – a near-naked expression of the grape, really. Born from the schistous soils of the Alentejo, it showcases a remarkable purity, almost a rebellious intensity. The minimal stainless steel aging highlights the fresh fruit and floral notes, a result of meticulous canopy management. A 15-day ‘cuivason’ (a traditional, low-oxygen fermentation), alongside spontaneous fermentation, delivers a beautifully balanced wine – perfect with anything from a delicate roasted chicken to a hearty steak, truly celebrating the flavours of Portugal.
