Description

This Private Selection red wine is crafted from Merlot, Touriga Nacional, and unidentified varieties from an old vineyard plot. After 18 months in French and American oak barrels, followed by 12 months in bottle, it displays a deep ruby hue, with a concentrated blackberry aroma blended with balsamic, tobacco, and vanilla notes from the wood. On the palate it is full‑bodied, elegant, complex, and persistent. Adega do Fundão, founded in 1949 by 30 viticulturists from the Beira Interior region, is located in Cova da Beira—a wine‑growing area that dates back to the 2nd century and Roman settlements. The vines are planted along Serra da Gardunha, producing grapes that impart unrivalled richness, freshness, and exuberance.
