Adrets del Priorat – Famille Belondrade Region: DOQ Priorat **Viticulture and winemaking** 60 % Garnacha (Garnatxa), 35 % Carignan (Carinyena) and 5 % other varieties The grapes come exclusively from the Clos de l’Afaitador plot, located in the Solanes del Molar area and surrounded by pine trees. This vineyard, shaped like a natural amphitheatre and facing north toward the Serra de Montsant, develops on terraces that allow cultivation of its steep slopes. The plot features three distinct soil types: in the upper zone llicorella soils dominate, where Garnacha is planted; in the middle zone, also Garnacha, the soils are richer in limestone; and in the lower zone, largely occupied by Carignan, clay soils dominate. Each parcel is harvested separately at its ideal ripening point. After selection and destemming, fermentation proceeds spontaneously and the wine ages in used barrels. The result is a fresh and elegant Priorat with a pronounced Mediterranean expression, prioritising fruit purity and terroir authenticity. **The 2022 harvest** The 2022 harvest was marked by extreme dry and hot conditions. Winter recorded little precipitation, leaving the soils with reduced water reserves, while spring remained dry and hot, accelerating the vegetative cycle. Summer was long and particularly demanding, with successive heat waves that produced small, highly concentrated grapes. Garnacha showed excellent adaptability, while Carignan yielded very low yields but extraordinary concentration. At the end of August, some rains brought the necessary relief, allowing a more balanced ripening.
