Let’s just say this Pouilly-Fuissé from Aegerter isn’t messing about. Grown in the heart of the Mâconnais vineyard, specifically the villages of Vergisson and Solutré, it’s a pretty clear demonstration of why some terroirs are, well, undeniable. The Chardonnay adds a classic Burgundian touch, and the careful, hand-picked and pressed winemaking – including constant “batonnage” – certainly delivers the complexity that Jancis Robinson praised back in 2022 (16/20). Seriously elegant, this one deserves a beautiful fish like salmon, perhaps with some fresh herbs, or just enjoyed as it is – a truly refined experience.
