Description

Alabastro Alabastro is a wine whose name is inspired by a semi‑precious marble found in Alentejo. The aim was to create a wine that, like the stone, is mineral and fresh. Just as the stone, Alabastro is a robust wine crafted from grapes belonging to three of Alentejo’s most emblematic varieties: Aragonez, Alicante Bouschet and Trincadeira. Aragonez and Trincadeira are grown in Arronches (Portalegre) and Orada (Borba). The Alicante Bouschet comes from vineyards planted in Redondo and Arraiolos, where loamy‑clay soils dominate. Vinification takes place at the modern cellar of Quinta do Carmo in Estremoz. It follows a traditional process, with short macerations, and the grapes are vinified separately in stainless‑steel tanks at controlled temperatures to preserve fruit aromas. After a brief post‑fermentative maceration, the wine spends a short period in cement tanks before bottling, resulting in a wine with a distinctly Alentejano character, modern and youthful. **Food pairing**: A versatile table wine that pairs beautifully with pasta, cheese, meat dishes or even spiced fish. **Awards** Bronze – Decanter Asis Wine Awards (2017) 86/100 – Wine Enthusiast **Allergen information** Contains sulfites.
