Alenza is a wine whose name derives from the contraction of Alejandro and Esperanza. It is produced traditionally, fermenting the must with the skins and without pre‑punch‑down. It is a Gran Reserva made only in exceptional vintages from the specific vineyard of Maricalva. It is one of Condado de Haza’s most highly praised wines, scoring 93 points from Tanzer in the 2003 vintage and 93 from Parker in 2001.
