Let’s just say this Almaviva from the Maipo Valley is aiming rather high, isn’t it? With a foundation of Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Cabernet Franc, it’s clearly trying to hold its own against giants like Concha y Toro and Château Mouton Rothschild. The Puente Alto terroir is said to be key, and the wine has been garnering international praise since 1998 – a solid record, indeed. It’s certainly a wine worth pairing with a robust cut of red meat to really test your mettle.
