Portuguese winemaker António Maçanita and English consultant and viticulturist David Booth met in early 2004. Over the next few months António was already learning viticulture from David, and a strong friendship developed. The next step was to make wine. Their first wine brought their first success, winning the Trophy Alentejo at the International Wine Challenge—a prize achieved for the second time in 22 years of competition.
