António José Ribeiro Saramago was born in Vila Nogueira de Azeitão in 1948, and from an early age he demonstrated a passion for the world of wine, not oblivious to the influence of his father, José Maria Saramago, a cellar master at José Maria da Fonseca for 42 years. With more than 200 awards won, many of his wines have received high praise from national and international wine press, with Jancis Robinson and Robert Parker among the most recent to highlight them.
