This Arribas from the Douro Superior is a wonderfully intriguing white wine, born from vines nestled in the schistous soils of the region, at around 350 metres above sea level and blessed with a northeast aspect. The careful hand-harvesting, coupled with prolonged *battonage* in French oak barrels and a commitment to stainless steel, gives it a remarkable minerality – it’s quite the wake-up call for the palate. Don’t expect just citrus notes; this wine clearly wants to tell a story of stone and sunshine, and would be absolutely divine with grilled fish or seafood.
