This Douro wine from Casa do Produtor Rui Roboredo is clearly the result of a rather fervent dedication to pure grape expression. The hand-harvesting, using 15kg boxes and strategic punctures, hints at a remarkably meticulous approach to coaxing the most from Viosinho, Códega and Rabigato. Fermentation, held steady at 16°C with battonage and aged French oak, delivers a complexity that beautifully balances exotic citrus notes with toasted barrel nuances – a classic, certainly. Ultimately, it’s a wonderfully voluminous and refreshing wine, perfect alongside grilled fish or seafood.
