The company Esporão was born in Alentejo from an unconditional desire to produce the finest wines. This motivation underpins all its wines and is the main reason for expanding its range to other products and territories. Quinta dos Murças, situated in the heart of the Douro D.O.C., is distinguished by eight terroirs heavily influenced by the mountains, varying altitudes and solar exposures, xistoso soils, and the characteristic climate of the Douro river valley. The vineyards host dozens of native grape varieties under Organic and Integrated Production. Olive trees, orange trees, almond trees and Mediterranean scrub help maintain ecological balance.
