Esporão was born in Alentejo from an unconditional desire to make the finest wines. This motivation is the legacy behind all of its wines and the main reason the company has expanded its range to other products and regions. Quinta dos Murças, located in the heart of the Douro Controlled Designation of Origin, is characterized by eight distinct terroirs shaped by the mountains, varying altitudes and sun exposures, schist soils, and the climate typical of the Douro River valley. Dozens of indigenous grape varieties have been planted in the vineyards, cultivated under Organic and Integrated Production methods.
