Sogrape Vinhos was founded in 1942 by Fernando van Zeller Guedes, with the ambition of introducing Portuguese wines to the world and a long‑term vision based on the quality of the wines it markets, the importance of brand innovation, and the presentation of its wines. Today, led by the third generation of the founding family, Sogrape Vinhos increasingly fulfills the objective set at its founding: to be a family‑oriented, internationally minded company focused on producing quality wines, innovation, and developing Portuguese brands of global standing. Sogrape Vinhos owns about 830 hectares of vineyards in Portugal. In 1980, it acquired Honra de Azevedo, located in the parish of Lama, Barcelos, one of Portugal’s oldest and most magnificent estates, dating back to the 11th century. After four years of renewal and requalification, the estate now focuses on the cultivation and production of Alvarinho and Loureiro grapes—impressive varieties from the Vinho Verde region—covering more than 30 hectares of planted vines.
