As the name suggests, the Azpilicueta Origen is a very special red wine, conceived to evoke the early days of the Rioja winery, when Don Félix Azpilicueta arrived in Fuenmayor and founded the house in 1881. The Tempranillo grape, sourced from three selected vineyards, gives the final blend a range of qualities: structure, power and robustness from San Cristóbal’s cherries and plums; a unique floral perfume and a higher fruit concentration from La Tahola; and a very balanced acidity from Los Cabezos. Bronze medal in the 2023 Decanter World Wine Awards.
