The Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal, founded in 1922 under the name João Pires & Filhos, has embarked on a long journey, establishing itself as one of Portugal’s most innovative wine producers. The company began by producing wines from grapes grown in the Palmela region. During the 1980s, Bacalhôa Vinhos de Portugal started expanding, acquiring estates across the country and creating new paradigms for quality wine production. Quinta da Garrida is located in Vila Nova de Tázem and covers a total area of 112 hectares, of which 80 hectares are vineyards that are 15 years old; the remaining area consists of new plantings carried out using the most modern techniques. The soils are granite-based, light, and poor, allowing the production of wines that showcase the prized characteristics of the region. (Illustrative image only)
