This Passignano is undeniably a testament to Tuscan history, born from a vine with nearly a thousand years of lineage – discovered in 1983, naturally! It whispers centuries of tradition. The deep ruby colour hints at what’s to come, while the bouquet offers dark cherry, creamy chocolate notes, and, of course, a touch of lavender and saffron, evoking the historic cellars of the Badia di Passignano. With a terroir of calcareous and clay soils at 300 metres above sea level, the wine boasts a vibrant acidity and present tannins, delivering a long, persistent finish. A wine for those who appreciate history, tradition, and, above all, a lovely Sangiovese. Absolutely fantastic with tagliatelloni al ragu di cinghiale.
