Barbeito Fortificado

Description

Barbeito Since March 1989, this Frasqueira has aged over twenty years in French oak casks by the natural cellar process, under moderate temperatures. When sufficiently concentrated and almost reaching the sugar limits allowed for a Cercial, it was transferred to large barrels in March 2009. Time has balanced this 1988 Cercial with a slight, delicate sweetness at the start of the tasting and a long, refreshing acidity at the finish. A total of 600 bottles of 750 ml and 300 bottles of 500 ml were bottled, all individually numbered. The grapes come from various quality vineyards in the Seixal area, pressed in a continuous press, and fermentation was stopped by the addition of 96 % wine alcohol. Contains sulfites.
