This Bela Luz, born from the Old Vines, certainly seems to have dozed off through centuries. That deep ruby colour hints at a comforting age, while the characteristic balsamic, floral and menthol notes – very much a product of the Douro’s terroir – confirm its rootedness. The ripe black fruit is presented with a remarkable definition and depth, and served with a freshness that’s truly impressive. Absolutely brilliant with a hearty beef roast.
