This Belondrade rosé is a delightfully audacious little experiment from the family – Didier Belondrade clearly threw caution to the wind. Born from a sandy Tempranillo plot, it’s a stunning demonstration that a bit of daring can yield genuinely impressive results. The blend of 75% Tempranillo, spiced up with a touch of Syrah, gives it a remarkably red-like character, yet retains the signature lightness and freshness you’d expect from a rosé. The key lies in the brief maceration, the floral must, and a subtle resting period on Verdejo lees, which surprisingly adds a creamy texture. And, true to Belondrade’s style, 10% of the wine fermented in oak – a detail that truly elevates the experience! A wine of complex and elegant flavour, perfectly suited to accompanying grilled fish or fresh cheeses. Prepare for a memorable experience worthy of a 92/100 from the DWA – you’ve been warned!
