Beyra Origin Grapes come from vines planted on the Beira Interior plateau at an average altitude of 700 m, most of which are over 40 years old. The soils are exclusively granite, featuring numerous quartz veins. Each year the finest vines are selected, whose indigenous varieties are perfectly adapted to the rugged climate brought by the altitude. Winemaking Fonte Cal (30 %), Gouveio (30 %), Verdelho (20 %), Sercial (20 %). Grapes are hand‑picked, fully destemmed and crushed immediately. Fermentation occurs at 16–18 °C over about 20 days, using selected yeast strains. Maturation Fermentation and ageing on fine lees for five months in stainless‑steel tanks. Food pairing Excellent accompaniment for shellfish, fatty fish, and aged sheep cheeses.
