This Boekenhoutskloof Sémillon is a testament to the power of time and a demanding terroir – truly a bit of magic. Crafted from vines some dating back to 1902, the wine reveals a remarkable complexity that belies its age. The blend of alluvial soils and steep slopes, alongside the distinctive influence of some mutated Sémillon Gris vines, delivers a strikingly mineral character and a structure suggesting exceptional longevity. A touch of Muscat d’Alexandrie, aged in amphora, further enhances its seductive nature. Wonderful with roasted chicken or duck, perhaps seasoned with fresh herbs.
