This Rótulo de Borba from the Alentejo is a delightful little secret – a blend of Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet, and Aragonez grown on vines that frankly, look like they’ve seen a thing or two. The winemaking, with a serious focus on maturation and post-fermentation maceration, really pulls out those signature fruity aromas of the region. After a stint in 3rd and 4th-year old barriques, and a brief period in bottle, you’re left with a wine boasting good structure, beautifully balanced tannins – ideal for grilling beef or pairing with some aged cheeses.
