Brancaia Brancaia TRE is a wine full of personality. The name TRE symbolizes its three grape varieties – Sangiovese, Merlot, and Cabernet Sauvignon – and also its three Tuscan vineyards, Maremma, Castellina, and Radda – the foundation of this wine. The blend is dominated by Sangiovese at 70%, while Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon each contribute 15% of their charm. This well‑structured, medium‑bodied wine ages for twelve months before bottling. Two‑thirds of the maturation occurs in French oak barrels, and one‑third in concrete tanks. An elegant cuvée that offers a lot of tasting pleasure now or later, and pairs well with any cuisine. “There is no better entry wine than this,” says Monica Larner (to Robert Parker) when referring to the TRE 2014. And James Suckling declares: “Really delicious, very juicy, with wonderful aromas of red fruit.” Ideal with pasta and rice dishes, roasted or sautéed white meats, poultry, baked or grilled fish. Our favourite: Vitello Tonnato with fresh capers. Awards 93/100 – James Suckling 92/100 – Falstaff – Othmar Kiem, Simon Staffler 90/100 – Vinous – Antonio Galloni
