In 1730, Henry Burmester and John Nash founded Burmester & Nash in London, dedicated to the grain trade. Later, in 1750, already in Vila Nova de Gaia, they began exporting Port wine to Europe and the British Isles. From generation to generation, they distinguished themselves by the rigor and expertise they devoted to Port wine, raising the Burmester name to the highest level of quality and international recognition. Burmester can be considered a specialist in harvests, boasting magnificent harvests that it makes available and releases regularly. Yet its Port Vintages are of excellent quality, showcasing their splendor in outstanding vintage years. At the close of the millennium, Burmester was acquired by the Sogevinus Group, which continues to honor brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not match the image shown.
