Founded in 1859 by António Alves Cálem, Porto Cálem remained in the same family for four generations and has always devoted great attention to producing quality Port wines, earning recognition from the wine world as a whole. With its famous "Velhotes" range of Port wine, launched in 1934, the brand gained national prominence and became Portugal's number one best-selling brand, with more than 3 million bottles sold every year. Today, Cálem belongs to the Sogevinus Group, which continues to perpetuate brands created five centuries ago. The bottling year may not correspond to the image shown.
