A family that has been dedicated to vine cultivation and winemaking for several generations. They currently work 170 hectares across two estates in central Portugal: Quinta de São Mateus and Quinta de Vale de Azar. In February 2004 they began constructing a new winery on the Quinta de São Mateus property, which was completed in December 2005. The winery produces wines based on a philosophy of maximum respect for the grapes, using gravity almost exclusively throughout the winemaking cycle and excluding any winemaking additives.
