This “Cara a Cara Superior” is a bold statement from the Douro. A blend of Aragonez and Touriga Nacional provides the backbone, but it’s the Touriga Franca that delivers that signature burst of red fruit, echoing the region’s characteristic grit. Concentrated and brimming with ripe black fruit notes and a hint of spice – a reflection of its limestone terroir – this wine certainly packs a punch. Wine Spectator’s judges were right to say it “has the strength to face any dish,” particularly well paired with a hearty roast or, for the adventurous, a wild boar stew.
