This Carvalheira Aequinoctium Veranum Grande Reserva is a truly fascinating wine – it seems to have enjoyed a remarkably attentive upbringing. Harvested on September 9th, 2014, the timing feels almost…well, mystical. The careful maceration, kept at a cool 10°C for a full 60 hours, ensured every nuance of colour and aroma was coaxed out with exquisite care. Maintaining the lees (battonage) has endowed it with a wonderfully rich and evocative texture, a beautiful nod to Bairrada tradition. It’s a supremely elegant white, ideal for pairing with a perfectly grilled white fish or perhaps a roasted chicken bursting with fragrant herbs.
