This Dão Bastardo, harvested by hand and with a delightfully spirited fermentation, clearly had a rebellious streak, spending 15 days playfully mingling with its skins. The twelve months ageing in new French oak added a surprising layer of complexity – a welcome maturation that elevates this wine. A fantastic match for rich Portuguese nibbles like Suckling Pig (Leitão à Darrian) or a perfectly grilled steak.
