This wine is a proper head-scratcher, built around those ancient vines – Sousão, Touriga Nacional, and Vinhas Velhas – alongside the influence of Touriga Franca. Extended maceration, executed with robotic precision and a delicate foot-stomping touch, unlocks a wonderfully intense aromatic profile of ripe red fruits, balanced with a pleasing balsamic note hinting at forest floor. On the palate, vibrant acidity and firm tannins are beautifully balanced by the wine's elegantly integrated oak, culminating in a long, harmonious finish – ideal alongside a hearty braised rabbit with mushrooms, truly showcasing the richness of the Douro Valley.
