This Villa Oliveira from Casa Passarella is the third release of a five‑year harvest, spanning 2020‑2024, crafted from Encruzado, an emblematic grape of the Dão region. The wine shows a citrusy hue, with aromas of white fruit, lychee and subtle floral notes. On the palate it is full‑bodied, fresh and elegant, with a long finish and great ageing potential. We are dealing with a producer reborn from the ashes. He came to stay and write a new story, but the house’s history dates back to the 19th century when it was founded. Great wines were born on this estate and its vineyards – who can forget the P63, once vinified by José Maria da Fonseca? Fate had left it “abandoned” in the world of wine, leaving only a faint memory of the great vintages that were produced there. The new owner brought people of good taste, an extreme dedication to doing and doing it well. Thus the new Casa da Passarella was born, to write a fresh chapter in the house’s history and the Dão region. The wines are excellent, made with rigor and a strong desire to deliver the best.
