Produced from the Encruzado grape, typical of the Dão region, it was vinified naturally and aged for about 9 months on its fine lees (“batonnage sur lies”). At Casa de Mouraz, all vineyards are grown organically, without herbicides or synthetic agrochemicals, and have been ECOCERT certified since 1996. The soil is fertilised through seedbeds of plants and organic manure. Vine treatments use natural products such as copper, sulphur, seaweed, clay and plant infusions. The biodynamic practices adopted since the end of 2006 further deepen the harmony between soil, plants, animals and humans. (illustrative image only)
