The story of Casa de Sarmento began in 1980 with the opening of a restaurant that specialized in roast suckling pig, in the demarcated region of Bairrada. The business grew over the years and branched out, never abandoning its original focus. Decades later, two new estates were acquired in the Alentejo and a third in Bairrada, allowing the house to become self‑sufficient in producing quality wines and sparkling wines, as well as olive oil and all its agricultural and livestock output.
